Tremonti - Episode VI: The End Will Show Us How

Post by UninvitedZero »

Well, friends, it's that time again!
It's time to start a brand new Tremonti album thread!
Of course Mark is a writing machine and it's been confirmed that Tremonti is planning to reconvene and hit the studio as early as next month!
Like every Tremonti album, I could go on and on with a wishlist of new ideas for Mark and the guys to experiment with...

What do we want?
What would we like to avoid?
Will it be heavier, softer? Both?!
Will there be a concept?

More vocals and blues guitar leads from Eric!
Or... If E-Rock wants to focus on rhythm guitar and backing vocals as usual, maybe a guest appearance from Eric Gales, Kingfish, Kenny Wayne Shepherd or some other modern blues icon!
More fingerpicked acoustic guitar intros and/or verses...
Since he loves Celtic Frost, maybe Mark could try his hand writing more black metal inspired riffs on a track...
Break the 10:00 song length barrier!

Ultimately, I've never been disappointed in any Tremonti releases and I'm certain this album will rule no matter what we're given! What do we think, TABN? November release perhaps? Are we psyched yet?

Mastodon-like vocals and longer songs.
Mark could pull it off and finally make Tremonti different from AB.

Didn't Mark say in previous interviews from years ago that either he wanted to do a double album (half acoustic, half electric like Foo Fighters' In Your Honor) or something along the lines of another album based on a fictional sci-fi-like story ala A Dying Machine? I would like to see him make one of those ideas come to reality. If he brings either of those ideas and concepts to AB, that would also be nice.

I remember hearing the "In Your Honor" idea as far back as the Cauterize/Dust days and I've always really hoped it actually happens! As far as another concept album, I'm unfamiliar with any other story ideas Mark has. I'm down to hear it already!

A full fledged AB concept album could be totally mind blowing, by the way... Like a super ambitious hybrid of The Last Hero, Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime, Pink Floyd's Wall AND Stone Sour's House Of Gold & Bones!

An "In Your Honor" double album is a dream for many an AB fan too I'm sure!

My Tremonti VI wishlist

14+ songs, all included on the record, no b-sides or bonus songs from limited editions.
2 ballads/experimental songs max.
More songs over 5 minutes, 2 songs over 7 minutes, or 1 song over 10 minutes
More heavy riffs like the first 3 records
More vocal experimentation from Mark (more lows, more belting)
Maybe a bass solo from Tanner and a drum solo from Ryan
More guitar solo trade-offs between Erock and Mark
More guitar solos from Erock
Some acoustic or clean intros
Some Instrumental/riff centric bridges like Catching Fire, Fortress, All That I Got, etc.

Could that Sand Runner book be the theme for the next album?

Bring back the thrash influences a bit more, more gallops and more skank beats etc. I like Tremonti the most when it's rhythmic and heavy. Let Mark continue to push his voice a bit more, more low passages and maybe a bit more pushed vocals.

10 songs or so. Keep the quality high but the length shorter.

I am more excited about the Creed reunion - but any time Mark records some new music I am excited about it. I really am not expecting anything new or earth shattering from this new Tremonti CD. Generally speaking, I think it will be more of the same type of stuff.

And that's not a bad thing at all.

Think this is basically my list. I wasn't big on his last album so hopefully this grabs me again.

I thought MiT was a good album but it very much hit AB territory for me. Good, but ultimately I just want speed-metal-pop-core from my Tremonti stuff. AB can do the AB.

I have a feeling this album is going to be very dark and heavier than the rest. Can't wait ... :cloud9

I really like a dying machine so if it's like that i will be happy. but both of the last two records were fire. I've been listening to them a lot recently

100% agree. A Dying Machine was Tremonti at its finest.

So Eric remains involved in Tremonti (plus maybe Creed) and is *not* a part of the recent Submersed reunion, correct?

Edit: I was able to confirm this on the Submersed Facebook page. They currently consist of Donald, Kelan, and a bunch of new guys. :/
