Awww, it's happening. They are phasing out Cry of Achilles from the condensed sets. Why can't these sort of crowds appreciate this 6:30 minute gem?
Such an awful fate :(

Anyway, a family friend ended up going to Chicago Open Air, and he said Myles "was spot on phenomenal today. Tremonti as well."
"Whatever takes us away
Will be the same to drive us on."

they should phase out any songs with the word "away" because Myles clearly has some sort of a vocal lisp that does not allow him to pronounce it correctly

^^ So basically phase out Blackbird and Cry of Achilles as well? Can a general mainstream rock crowd appreciate a nice long epic track, particularly AB's long epic tracks?

All right, so I'm browsing through Twitter to see if there is any notable news regarding AB's set and whatnot and I found these set times.

Now, I'm well aware that the two opening bands get 30-35 min. I was not aware the two headlining acts only have an hour each. I thought co-headlining meant they were going to get like 75 min. or something. When Trivium and Tremonti did a co-headlining tour together, both bands got 75 min. right? Wonder why it is not the case here. Maybe because there are four bands in the line-up instead of three?

I have some pics from the concert last night a First Niagara, but not sure how to share them. Do I have to put them on a website first? Help please!

The setlist last night at First Niagra Pavilion was:

Addicted to Pain
Find the Real
White Knuckles
Blackbird
Isolation
Rise Today

Great show too, they sounded fantastic. Wish that they had more time to play, but I'll take what I can get.

It's nice they're changing the set list up a bit night to night. I guess that's one nice side effect of being limited to 6 songs. It's easy to change one or two of the regulars.

Makes sense to go with the heavier tracks considering the audience, too.
Another photobucket casualty... :(

I was at the indy show last night. They absolutely killed it. All the bands sounds awesome. Myles was still doing his eeeee pronunciation. One thing that me and a buddy came up with as a reason why which is probably unlikely but just a different side as maybe it's a bit of a troll for having to open up and only get 6 songs. Idk just a different view, but I can't see why he would be doing it. Any other A pronounciation he nailed so I have no idea why he does it with "awaeeee". Oh well, still kicked ass!

He did it at the headliner too. He's preserving his voice.

Preserve it for what? Don't put the songs on the album singing as high if you can't pull it off live. A lot of AB songs sound like shit live due to the way Myles makes the choice to sing the songs.

Naaah man. the dudes on tour so often with two different bands. He's not the only singer to do something like this, and at least he actually sings instead of lip syncing.

He's getting older, he's very aware of his own voice. I see no problem with him prolonging the life of his instrument.

In all fairness and honesty, aside from the eee sounds he's been making, AB and Myles are sounding, from the videos I've seen, as well as they can be. These guys are in their 40s now, shockingly, and there comes a time where one must adapt and reassess how they are playing. I've been enjoying these videos, despite Myles' "flaw".
