Yea, they miss a typical AB riff indeed. But it's got the typical AB dynamics, it's got some really good melodies and there's a really good solo in both of them :D

Maybe Buried Alive wouldn't be a bad choice if you're going for a harder AB track.

Well, the thing is that I already played Brand New Start in the class, though I had no response to it, though my teacher liked it, but its just that no one paid much attention (which was a shocker). Though they may have to pay attention to my presentation.

Maybe Buried Alive could be a good suggestion as well, Timotheus. Which makes this harder to choose.

Yea, and Coeur D'Alene wouldn't be a bad choice either.. It's got everything. Solo, clean parts, melody, big chorus, riffs :D

Sorry if I'm confusing you with too many options :lol

Those 2 could work, which one though depends on the mood/topic of your paper.

All right, this is a matter of personal ideas but do you think that if I put a comment like this in the paper, would it be considered sacrilege?
Alter Bridge represents a piece of some of the biggest rock bands in the 70s and in the 80s (Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Van Halen, etc.)

I don't really agree with it, but if you want to put it in there, you should do it.

Personally I think Alter Bridge was influenced by those bands, and there are definitely some parts in their songs that reminds us of those bands. Having a singer like Myles Kennedy in the band also helps to see some references, but I think 'represent' is not the right word in this context. I don't think it's sacrilege, but some people might do.

All right, I'm probably whacking myself for this. But for the sake of in terms of what words to put, the band's genre are hard rock with hints of blues rock and heavy metal, correct? And that their sound could be qualified as heavy, yet melodic.

Yea, that's a good way to describe Alter Bridge's sound :)

All right, my presentation is next week and I feel like I'm going to pick Fallout, just because its got a good fast pace to it and if I got extra time, I'm going to pick Wayward One (just to show that slow-tempo epic-like feel element they have).

Edit: Ahhhh, double f', now I'm thinking One by One. This decision-making is so damn hard.

I'm not sure what grade you're in or what kind of class this is for, but if someone filled a 15 minute presentation with a 5 minute song at my university - they most definitely would not be getting a very good grade.

If I had the option, I could go as long as I want with all sorts of stories/biographies and play Blackbird (song). But its a three hour class, and the teacher has things he wants to say/play, and there's other students that have presentations of their bands as well. So I'm restricted to like 15-20 minutes with one song, maybe two songs if they want me to.

Btw, this is extra credit (the presentation). I just do this to give myself good leverage.
