I'm just glad they are taking this really seriously. On one level its awesome that they are not messing around. But lack of time does seems to work against in past experience... We shall see.

Yep, after all ODR was a very rushed album, according to interviews.

Pretty sure they had it 90% written for months before Myles stepped in and continued to work on it more. And they had no other projects in between so that has a massive factor as well. Loved the condescending tone of your post though!

From Michael: ''The song Alter Bridge wrote today felt anthemic and happy so I doubt it would be dark, for those wondering. It was only music I heard. No vocals.''

I'm just so happy they're writing again. The lack of AB over the last year has seriously bummed me out. I can't wait to hear some new material.

Yes, same here. Sometimes I tried to combine in my head Myles vocals in AL with Tremonti's Project songs.

Yeah, that's how crazy I am. Now you know.

They have reached a crucial milestone in the writing process:

Also from Michael...

Looks like this is the last writing they'll be doing for a little while... I wonder what they're up to next.

It seens to me that they are following the same schedule of ABIII.

Exactly. The guy has been nonstop for so long now. We certainly wouldn't want him to be depressed and resentful while writing AB IV. I'm glad to hear he'll finally get to spend some time at home.

" The thing about "Blackbird" in particular was we had a fair amount of time to put that record together. I think it took us about a year and I think there were definitely songs that were challenges and we really beat our heads against the wall trying to put our best foot forward and kinda find our sound."

" Maybe one of the most gratifying moments as a writer that I can remember is when we finally chased down and caught "Blackbird." The track took forever but I'll never forget we were in the rehearsal studio and I would always record the rehearsals onto my laptop. And I remember going back to Mark's house and going to the room where I stayed there and listened to it after having a few hours and gaining some fresh perspective. I remember just being like, "Wow, I think we really found something here." "

Myles words, not mine.
So, take your time guys, take your time.
