I feel ya, I was at that show at Jannus, about 100 people there and raining.Electricladyland wrote:I haven't seen these guys since Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg, FL in 2008. They avoided the state of Florida for their entire ABIII tour, and when I moved to California last summer, they played in FL. I hope they can manage to come play in the L.A. area!
I don't blame them 1 bit for not coming back to the Tampa area. Our "rock" station has been shitty for a long time. They still play 3 days grace and Staind songs from 10 years ago 10 times a day.
They only play new music that is completely ripe for the masses like Volbeat and 5 finger (who I like).
I have just accepted that AB music is a bit too intellectual for this area of DJ's and Hip Hop. No patience for a sonic journey, just a head bang and ass slap then on to the next song.
Tampa in the 90's actually was the complete opposite. 98 rock helped launched some big bands by not being afraid to go off the beaten path a little. Huge bands such as Creed, Fuel, LimpBizkit, Candlebox, Days of the New, Disturbed.
I've been going to the Orlando shows since and those work out great because they are Hometown shows with release parties with real fans. Its like everyone is part of a big family at those shows.
