Holy shit, they got reviewed in the Guardian! Had a feeling Dom Lawson would do one (and enjoy the album). That's awesome.

Not sure I should breath new life into this thread, but I laughed so hard at this review I just had to share. Not sure if it has been shared though...
But all that changed when the Russia-sized ego of Creed frontman Scott Stapp got too much for guitarist and music-writer Mark Tremonti. He dissolved the band and then started Alter Bridge, pulling in all the other members of Creed except Stapp. He even got a new singer to replace him. So Alter Bridge’s very existence is predicated on Mark Tremonti pulling off an incredibly dickish move.

—the fact that their first single “Open Your Eyes” was a carbon copy of Creed’s “Higher” didn't help—
"My Sacrifice" you dummy. If you're gonna make the comparison, at least use the right song

Well, Open Your Eyes does sound like a Creed song, so I agree with that statement (besides the song mix-up).

I read one of the reviews which draws a comparison with Queensryche. I was glad to see that cuz I really get that vibe from some of the songs on Fortress and was the first one to point that out here, not saying its a bad thing but yeah, some evident Queensryche influences for sure. Could be cuz of the way the vocals are processed on some of the songs.

That one! :) I thought it was cool to hear Mark about Amsterdam, and the law forcing decibel limits in NL.

^Mark didn't mention it there but Myles is a big Queensryche fan, and I definitely think it's a good comparison.

ArtistDirect put them in top 10 hard rock / metal albums of the year.

When I looked yesterday I didn't see any others so maybe they're posting them separately?

There was also a nice long Brian & Mark interview with a French rock program posted somewhere but I can't find it at the moment. Brian talked about how he wished AB was the only project but that Myles working with Slash has drawn many people to their fanbase.
