Not really a fan of their heavier stuff so these sentiments sorta concern me. Still hoping for the best, but wish they would've mixed it up more. They don't play heavy songs well live save for a couple

I'll hold out til I've heard it, I'm generally not into their heavier stuff either, but I like Addicted To Pain. Intrigued nonetheless.

Crumbso, thanks for the review. Which song off All I Was would you say compares most closely to the song Tremonti sang lead vocals on (The Waters Rise?) from a vocal or guitar standpoint?

TBH I couldn't compare. I didn't really get the All I Was vibe. Mark was more untouched vocally. I can't really remember the melody. ATP was teh closest to All I Was.

Is there a particular Muse song Calm The Fire made you think of? Or was it just the sound, the harmonies, the combination of everything.. that gave you a muse vibe?

Thanks Crumbso! Glad you had a great night =D

From what you have said I think this is shaping up to be my favourite album. I'm more of a fan of AB's heavy side so this has got me pumped!

I'm glad to hear that Flip has stepped it up. Bring on the live shows!

Soooo much this, that's been bugging me immensly since ABIII, really hope it indeed flows and doesn't seem forced too

I'm not saying that they aren't in there at all, it just seemed like there was less of a conscious effort to shoe-horn them in.

You know what? It's really hard to place a song... but it just felt..well.... Musey. I was the only one to comment on it either.

Sweet, nicely done Crumbso. You likely to go cold turkey on this one?
For all of the hope that it brings...

Stuzz wrote:Crumbso, thanks for the review man! super excited! i know you only heard each song once... but do you think cry of achilles or fortress have the potential to takeout blackbird, in terms of epicness, or is it too hard to tell?
There was a lot of epic stuff there I guess but nothing that matched the tone of Blackbird. It's really hard to say. Sorry I haven't got a clearer answer.

No way man. I've had my first experience and it was awesome to hear it with no expectations but now I just wanna hear it again and analyse everything. I'll be listening to every tid bit that comes out till the release date.

Lover sounds really interesting too.. I'm glad it's not just a ballad, but it looks like it's not a regular rocker too.

Thx for answering all our questions btw! :cheers

Well that's the main thing that was bothering me, I don't mind one but on ABIII it felt so extremely forced to me, so if there's less of that I'm happy, thanks!
