Yes, I read quite a bit about Jon's situation. So, do you think Alter Bridge will continue until age/time and possibly physical issues force them to adjust?Addicted To Pain wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 8:18 pmBon Jovi took a long break because Jon needed vocal surgery. His voice had been declining rapidly since 2013, and in 2022, his absolutely horrendous performance was the last straw that pushed him to find the cause of his issues. It is hard to predict when he will recover, if ever, and until then, he maintains that there will be no tours.

I think so. History is telling us they want to keep working, whether it's AB, solo stuff, Creed, Slash, etc. I would imagine with how consistently they've produced material and toured over the last 15 years that they could easily afford a year or more off, but they clearly choose not to do so. Even as Mark's kids get older and I wonder if he wouldn't just want to be full time dad for a couple years before they get older and leave the home, he hasn't slowed down from recording or touring any of his 4 different projects.Schulzy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 8:48 pmYes, I read quite a bit about Jon's situation. So I think Father Time, with all his baggage, is the only thing that will slow these guys down.

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
I heard this phrase on a hockey podcast regarding player negotiations for next contracts that I think can apply here. "Don't Mess With Happy."
These guys don't have any internal strife with each other that's public. They love the music they make, which is why they continue to want to make albums every 3 years, and they love the kind of fanbase that they play said music in front of. Why would they need to pause that for a 5 or 10 year period, for creative reasons, especially when they are pretty much near or close to the end of their physical peak?

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
Have you noticed a lof of older bands barely bother releasing new albums once they become a legacy act?
It's been happening to a lot of bands that used to be quite productive back in the day.
Seriously, what's the point of recording new music these days, when your fans only want the hits from 20 years ago?
They're barely gonna make money in the process, so why even bother doing it?
So, as long as Mark and Myles are still having fun creating and releasing new music, I'll take it. They'll never top what they did 15 or 25 years ago. But it'll still be fairly enjoyable for the most part, so good on them for still making the effort instead of resting on their laurels, like so many of their peers.

Thank you all for the reassurance. I am constantly reminded of how long Alter Bridge has been a band and am grateful for that. I sincerely hope they can continue as long as their interest and passion will allow. They have a lot to juggle as we all know. My wish is that a younger generation (like our man Max) will discover and appreciate the band - perhaps crediting Alter Bridge as an influence for creating their own music.

Alter Bridge is indeed my main musical influence. Forgive And Forget is basically a One Day Remains song, and The World In Our Hands could easily be a Tremonti song.

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
I had some time to kill last week, so I made this medley of 32 Alter Bridge songs that are in Drop C# tuning. Enjoy! Have fun spotting all the songs!

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
Some people on Reddit asked me to do a medley of the Drop Bb songs after I did the one of the Drop C# songs, so here you go. Let me know what you think!

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
So a few days ago, I saw Matt Nathanson live. Some people might remember him as one of the guests for That Metal Show when Mark and Myles guest on it.
Anywho, he had an interesting concept where he brought this wheel and on this wheel, there was song titles, album titles, covers, and random stuff on it. He plays like 14 songs that he already has in mind to play for the show. However, for four songs slots, he spins this wheel and whatever it lands on, he'll play the appropriate song and he will tell a story about what song he and his band will are about to play and play it.
That got me thinking. AB has about it's got to north of 100 songs at this point created. They play roughly around 15-17 songs a night nowadays. That's like 5/6th of their catalog that won't be played live on a regular basis. I know this is asking a lot out of them at this point, but man, it would be nice where they would like play 12 songs that is a must play on a tour and for like 4-5 song slots, they challenge themselves to spin the wheel that would have all 7 albums (soon to be 8) on it and whatever it lands on, they got to play a song off of that album whether it is from ODR - AB VIII.
Again, what I stated is probably something that they may not want to consider, but it would be neat for everyone to be surprised like this in the now.

Yes. Alter Bridge, please do this. Other bands do this as well, such as Fall Out Boy and Muse.anguyen92 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 5:12 pm That got me thinking.
