Update: Someone replied to my comment on Reddit saying that they were at Tremonti Sings Sinatra last night, met Ryan Bennett, asked him about possible United States tour dates, and found out from him that they are considering scheduling it for September/October 2025. Good news for us!Addicted To Pain wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 12:58 pmYep. Tour dates from July 9 to August 20. We might never get a Tremonti tour in the United States this year.Addicted To Pain wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:40 pmExcept that Creed is teasing summer tour dates....
EDIT: People on Reddit are not optimistic about this situation either.

Far from it being good news - that's when AB should be releasing the new record and starting touring.Addicted To Pain wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 11:50 pm Update: Someone replied to my comment on Reddit saying that they were at Tremonti Sings Sinatra last night, met Ryan Bennett, asked him about possible United States tour dates, and found out from him that they are considering scheduling it for September/October 2025. Yeah, the September/October before an AB album is supposedly out is usually around the time they would do media/radio areas to promote the album and do the Listening party or do a pre-album tour.
I guess if there is a Tremonti tour in that period, AB is not going to hit Europe until January?

Alter Bridge did a tour in that time period in 2019 with Skillet. Very shortly after, they flew to Europe and toured there in November and December.anguyen92 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 12:39 pm Yeah, the September/October before an AB album is supposedly out is usually around the time they would do media/radio areas to promote the album and do the Listening party or do a pre-album tour.

It's great for us fans that they work so hard and pump out so much material over their various bands and projects, but my God, they all need to take like a year to just sit at home and relax. I'm kind of starting to fear for the guys' health jamming all of these things back to back to back to back.

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
I mean the pandemic pretty much forced them to take a year off, especially for Myles, so I don't blame them for going full steam ahead since they don't know when this could all suddenly stop again. Plus, they missed out on what could have been good AB tours from the Spring of 2020-onwards.
Still waiting on that AB/Black Stone Cherry/Saint Asonia tour (in my eyes, probably the best tour bill they had that year), but Saint Asonia is probably done now due to Adam Gontier being back in Three Days Grace and Mike Mushok is back doing stuff with Staind.

Future Alter Bridge Questions
So...I don't know how I arrived at this point. There have been a few questions rolling around in my head about Alter Bridge that I'm afraid I don't want to know the answers to. But I will ask them anyway for purposes of discussion.
1. Would it benefit all of the guys to stop making albums for say, a decade after the next one?
2. Would it be okay if they didn't tour for that time period?
3. Is there a set end for the band or will they still be around/active in 10 or even 20 years?

No, no, and no. Neither the band themselves nor the fans would like any of those ideas.Schulzy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 10:03 pm So...I don't know how I arrived at this point. Tell me more. Why? I'm going to play what if. What if they did? What if they only released singles, EPs, did charity concerts, or prioritized Creed? There have been others on this board that have suggested they take a break/longer periods of rest. What do you see as the potential downside to that for the band/fans?Addicted To Pain wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 10:15 pmNo, no, and no. Re: Future Alter Bridge Questions
A decade is far, far, far too long. Mark is 51 this year, Myles is 55. I would say 3-4 years in between albums is fine, provided other projects are on hold, so that they can release an album, tour for 18 months. chill out for a year, take another year to write and record and finally release an album. But with all of their side projects, the year of chill out is never gonna happen and they will keep draining themselves out on their solo stuff, Slash, Sinatra etc.Schulzy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 8:23 amTell me more. Also, with prioritizing Creed, Myles is gonna be left out.
I remember them talking about sticking to EPs and singles as early as 2010 when they thought ABIII was going to be their final album. Maybe going for a shorter format would be a good thing for them?

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
The downside is that the fans that are primarily Alter Bridge fans first, won't get to see their favorite band active and there's a lot more of those people than you may think they are.
If they would have paused doing albums, the best times to do it would have been from 2022-2025 and could have coasted on the backs of the idea of doing anniversary tours. Yeah, people may think they create albums just to keep the an album every 3 years cycle going, but when you have Mark being excited about the process of AB VIII, you get the assurance that they are going to deliver their top effort on it, as always.

I might have misinterpreted the question and thought that Schulzy was wondering what would happen if all the guys were to stop making albums for a while, including side projects.

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
I guess what started some of the wondering for me was looking at older bands like The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, or even the long gap that Breaking Benjamin has had. Maybe a better question would have been how long do you think the AB guys can keep this going with the albums, multiple projects, tours, and life in general? At what point do they transition? And what do you think that will look like?

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
Or look at a band like U2. Do you think Alter Bridge could follow the same path and continue their career into their 60s?

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
Bon Jovi took a long break because Jon needed vocal surgery. His voice had been declining rapidly since 2013, and in 2022, his absolutely horrendous performance was the last straw that pushed him to find the cause of his issues. It is hard to predict when he will recover, if ever, and until then, he maintains that there will be no tours.
