Lzzy from Halestorm has a nice voice.
But i generally think most Halestorm songs are bland.
I tend to agree. Great performers but the songwriting is a little samey.
This is what I generally find with the majority of the modern rock and metal scene. Terrific, charismatic voices and musicians but bland music overall. Shinedown, Halestorm, Black Stone Cherry, Breaking Benjamin, FFDP and many others fall under this definition.

I don't have much of a problem with bland music. If it's worked before, go for it. Sometimes it's easier to strip back to basics rather than continue to add new thing after new thing to the genre of rock.
Halestorm and Breaking Benjamin are two of my top five bands of all time. Maybe for Halestorm, I'm biased because recently I've developed a major crush on Lzzy, but I still think both bands put out music that is very enjoyable to listen to.

They all fall into a certain genre of 'American Hard Rock' that, outside of a few songs, just doesn't really interest me. It's the genre that came out of the whole 'Post Grunge' phase, where the more interesting and rougher edges of Grunge where shaved off and further commercialised. Creed was a part of it and they never really interested me outside of 'Say I' and 'Weathered'.
I don't mind simple music but a band has to have at least something that sets them apart from others. Like Alter Bridge has that modern Rock/Metal sheen and hookiness but they have a much heavier and proggier edge, alongside a very distinctive singer.
It's like when I saw the 2019 AB concert supported by Shinedown. Shinedown's set was shinier and more of a 'show' than AB but the interest came from the stageshow antics and not the songs. AB was the opposite, not as good of a 'show' but they have that edge of being a bunch of musicians up there doing difficult and compelling material with no backing tracks or gimmicks.
It's all subjective thought and all those bands you list are more successful and well known in the mainstream than AB.

My argument for Halestorm: Lzzy has a beautiful voice and their live performances are 1) completely live, without the help of backing tracks, which is sadly becoming less and less common these days, 2) full of energy, 3) almost flawless, and 4) varied night after night.
My argument for Breaking Benjamin: They make the perfect blend of heavy and melodic music that's concise and straight to the point. Very few bands can do it this well. They're also another of the few bands whose live performances are completely live.

GUYS. I finally found out what the exact day was when I first heard Alter Bridge. August 9, 2020. Glad that I finally know my Alter Bridge birthday. I wonder if others know their Alter Bridge birthdays as well.

Some time back in 2004. I remember the moment but have no idea of the exact date.

Mine would have to be the first date that Open Your Eyes was first released, unless any of their other songs had snippets come out before then (I honestly can't remember, it's been so long). I was eagerly anticipating their music since I was following them as a hardcore Creed fan.

Mine was either Dec 28 or 29 of 2006. My brother gave me a copy of ODR for Christmas and that was the day I got around to opening it and playing it.
For all of you TV streamers out there, I just found out that Live At Wembley is on Tubi to watch for free! Tubi rules btw.
