Isolation is more comparable to Addicted to Pain than it is to the rest of ABIII. Abe Lincoln- "Honey, where did you put my shirt?"

I wish they'd stay away from Myles overlapping his own voice. 80% of the song is like that.

Re: "Show Me a Leader" discussion
Yea, and if you're gonna do it, do it more subtle. That's probably my only problem with the song. There's overdubbing in Broken Wings as well, but you barely even notice it until you pay attention to it.

Re: "Show Me a Leader" discussion
Ok, the intro is really cool, and although it's different from the rest of the song if gives it a very different feel and improves it greatly (it was really not so great to launch quickly into the firs verse). I have literally only listened to the full version once (though I am currently listening to it again straight away) but my initial impression is that in its full form it is one of the better lead singles from the band.
Re: "Show Me a Leader" discussion
actually i can't quite put my finger on it, but the overlapping and the chorus in this song remind me of a shinedown song. That's what this reminds me of. Like a popular one too. I think that's why my initial reaction was "oh my god they've sold out in the chorus"
because I hate shinedown.
because I hate shinedown.

Love those last 4 notes of the solo. Best part of the solo, IMO.

Re: "Show Me a Leader" discussion
I wonder if the track length was why they mentioned they were considering two different singles in the pre-listening party interview - they knew they wanted Show Me a Leader to go out in full in Europe, where radioplay isn't really the goal, but were considering one they didn't have to carve up for the US?
Also just finally bought my download from Amazon

Re: "Show Me a Leader" discussion
Ok so is it me, or would this track TOTALLY be comfortable sat somewhere on the Fortress tracklist? Which to me is a compliment to their ability to progress very smoothly between records.
The song actually sounds like a mash-up of One Day Remains and Addicted To Pain. To me..
And it's 100% a grower

^^ Most likely, the modern Shinedown which I can see why one would hate them now. Nowadays, I still like their stuff, although I didn't like the direction of their last album (even though some of the songs are all right).

Re: "Show Me a Leader" discussion
I loved the first 3 Shinedown albums, but man... the last two were weak. Back on topic...
Yeah, I feel like SMaL could have been a Fortress track. The riff is very similar to CTF. Can't wait to hear My Champion (if indeedy it is the next release before the actual release).

Re: "Show Me a Leader" discussion
To me, this is a mix of "The Cage" and "The Dissident", which isn't a bad thing, I love both those songs. You guys are right, 100% a grower. I'm in love with this song and Myles' vocals. Say what you want about sounding like his Slash style, but it's Myles freaking Kennedy. The man can sing

Thanks for the sig Don Harry!
Re: "Show Me a Leader" discussion
It segues on from Fortress (song) pretty niftily, can say that for sure. Think it was Ashlee in the listening party thread said that it was a nice refresher from where they left off.

And that's exactly what we want from new Alter Bridge. It's perfect, and it still sounds like them
Again, which is what a fanbase wants

For the most part, much. The sharp pains have stopped, still feel a lot of pressure in the lower abdomen and I'm sore, but a hell of a lot better than what I was feeling last nightSHEAKENBAKEN wrote:Are you feeling better since last time, Hartie?AHart96 wrote:You guys are right, 100% a grower.
