Least Favourite Song From The Last Hero
Least Favourite Song From The Last Hero
Figured since there's a poll about peoples' favourite song from the new album, we should also have one to decide which song most fans around here think is the worst track on The Last Hero. This obviously isn't a thread created out of frustration about the new album or anything like that, I really love it, but I guess the results would be quite interesting anyway. Re-voting is enabled because experience shows that favourite and least favourite songs can (or almost will) change with time.
My vote goes to Crows On A Wire because I think it has an abyssmal verse and a really weak chorus, coupled with a mediocre bridge. The only good part about the song is the pre-chorus, but that's definitely not enough to make it good in any way. One of the three worst songs AB have ever written in my opinion.

You Will Be Remembered. Just cannot get on with that chorus at all. Probably in their all time bottom five.
For all of the hope that it brings...

Last of Our Kind for me. Not sure what else to say about it. Not a big fan of the chorus. I think if I only knew the song as LOOK (heh, didn't even realize those were the initials) and not Symphony of Agony I might like it more. Another reviewer said it well: many of the songs are also the beginning lyrics to their choruses (9 of the 15 tracks), and it tires out over time.

Re: Least Favourite Song From The Last Hero
Show Me A Leader hands down no contest whatsoever is the worst song on the album. If it wasn't for the intro or Mark's solo, I wouldn't listen to that song anymore. Next would be My Champion.

Same here! That emphasis on WE will sing are like nails on a chalkboard for me.Ubik wrote:You Will Be Remembered. Just cannot get on with that chorus at all. Probably in their all time bottom five.

Whoever voted for Crows needs their ears checked.
Edit: Wait...it was the guy who started the thread?!?

I voted for Crows. By far my least favorite chorus they've done.
Was tempted to vote for Symphony of Agony, but I can't be too harsh considering it's a B-side. Symphony bores me, but Crows annoys me. Big difference

You Will Be Remembered or Losing Patience. I think You Will Be Remembered adds something to the album, so I'm tempted to not vote for it because of that (Losing Patience is a weaker version of three other songs on the album), but just looking at the songs individually You Will Be Remembered is just easily one of my least favorite songs they've ever done.

- The Writing on the Wall
- Poison In Your Veins
- Twilight

Yeah, exactly my sentiments, couldn't have said it better.AHart96 wrote:I voted for Crows. By far my least favorite chorus they've done.

There's no way Losing Patience is similar to Twilight. Replace it with Crows On A Wire and you've got the four rather heavy and not too melodious hard-hitters on TLH. I'd exclude The Other Side because it's got a completely unique feeling and Show Me A Leader mostly because of the intro. Twilight just doesn't fit that list as well.MuffinMcFluffin wrote:Let me guess:Timotheus wrote:(Losing Patience is a weaker version of three other songs on the album)

For me:
-Losing Patience
-You Will be Remembered
-This Side of Fate (I know, I know...)
This Side of Fate is musically a great song but its just a complete and utter rip off of Muse and I cant get that out of my head no matter how many times I listen to it! I like my AB to sound like AB and my Muse to sound like Muse lol It just doesn't work for me.

Re: Least Favourite Song From The Last Hero
Wonder what Brian would say if he saw that so many AB fans are disliking You Will Be Remembered (me included btw, I just don't think it's the absolute worst song on the album)...
Re: Least Favourite Song From The Last Hero
At the Listening Party, zaz asked Myles which song would make him cry. Myles said it would probably be You Will Be Remembered.
I'm pretty sure this is not what he meant.

Show Me A Leader (minus intro), no Twilight. Heavy riff with Myles playing some kind of high notes over it, filler verses and a catchy chorus. All really upbeat.MuffinMcFluffin wrote:Let me guess:Timotheus wrote:(Losing Patience is a weaker version of three other songs on the album)

Between Twilight and Losing Patience. Twilight nabbed it.
