Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 04
Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 04
All Hope Is Gone is boring. As is the entire middle of AB III.

You're right and I appreciate that. But he also can't sing it live as he does on the album. So it's an OK tradeoff.Arctic wrote:Myles extends the solo-ish guitar part at the end of the song at a show at one point, that would’ve been cool on the album version. Still a top tier song though.

I must be among the few that really doesn't like Lover or Burn it Down. Those songs just take way too long to get going for me. Then again I'm also one of the few here that doesn't hate on my champion. All Hope is Gone is like one of the many ABIII tracks that gets underrated a lot. The second half of that song is killer.
Here's my ranking:
Buried Alive
My Champion/ Godspeed
All Hope is Gone
Burn It Down
Lover

Winner: Lover
... which makes me think that many "old school" fans must've left this forum. Once again, a newer track has succeeded over the ODR song that won last time. Lover takes the clear victory in this battle, crushing Burn It Down after being easily defeated by it three years ago. Godspeed also has performed surprisingly well, given the opposition, and is tied with Burn It Down for the second place.

I did go give Lover a fresh listen, and while I appreciate it and find the song very appealing, it still just doesn't reach out and tear my soul apart the way Burn It Down does. Maybe it's just the nostalgia, but then, Lover is a couple albums ago now too.
