Favorite non-album track?
Favorite non-album track?
I'm interested in the community's take on this. For me personally it's probably a tie between Solace and The Damage Done. I think Zero should've been on ABIII. The rest I don't revisit very often.
Re: Favorite non-album track?
Thought about including Ahavo Rabo Taco Salad but didn't.
Re: Favorite non-album track?
I'm not sure I've even listened to all of these. I really need to collect the MP3's for all of these tracks and add them to the appropriate album folders on my computer so I can get them into rotation.
Re: Favorite non-album track?
NWTL definitely, although I don't think b-sides fall under the definition of non-album tracks - they would have been on an album had they not been dropped in favour of other tracks. Last Rites or Save Me only fit that definition but oh well.

Have to go with my little buddy Outright.
For all of the hope that it brings...

Re: Favorite non-album track?
I'm between New Way To Live and The Damage Done
Re: Favorite non-album track?
Disagree. Bonus tracks are bonus tracks. Not part of the album.
New Way To Live is solid. Some of these songs are weird outliers though. We Don't Care At All is maybe the most un-AB AB song there is. Clearly an experiment that didn't quite work.
But if I remember correctly, the band auditioned mixers / masterers for Blackbird via the 3 leftover tracks. So each one of those has its own distinct sound, which is kind of neat.
Re: Favorite non-album track?
11 of them are conveniently on the Live At The O2 Arena + Rarities album.
We had to wait over a decade to hear most of the ODR outtakes!! It was ridiculous. Still sad that there's no studio version of this one:

Re: zaz: the black sheep mod
Good idea! Can’t believe we haven’t done this yet!
I know it gets a lot of flak, but I love We Don't Care at All. Love the energy behind it and it always gets me amped up. Cool riff between the vocals and an anthemic chorus. Maybe it came out and it appealed to my then angsty teenage self and this is all nostalgia. Idk but I always try to play it when I can’t listen to the full b-sides album. All the b-sides off of Blackbird are top choices in my mind though and Solace is a new favorite of mine too.

Re: Favorite non-album track?
Thought about voting for it but couldn't.
Had to go with New Way To Live instead.
Another photobucket casualty...

Re: Favorite non-album track?
Solace all the way. We should start trying to get them to play it live, at least once.

New Way to Live and then Damage Done would be my choices here. Those are easily 1000x better than any of the other songs on the list, IMO.
Re: Favorite non-album track?
The intro guitar to "Save Me" sounds like a part of Tremonti's Fall Again (around the heavy part around the 1 minute mark).

Either Solace or New Way to Live. Not sure which right not to actually vote, heh.
Re: zaz: the black sheep mod
Yeah, I thought it seemed like a fun thread idea. I've been more active here lately because my dad died and AB are definite "comfort listening" for me. And, as I suspected, a handful of their songs have helped me grieve. Oh, how I sobbed to the Wembley version of Wonderful Life.

Are Save Me and New Way To Live the only two of these that they've played live?

Re: holy crap, I made multiple AB posts in the same week!
So sorry to hear that! Glad you've found a way to help you through.scarecrow wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 9:37 pmYeah, I thought it seemed like a fun thread idea. This video has been floating around for years, although the audio sucks so much that I don't think I've ever listened to the whole thing through. Realizing now we didn't get a full version on that b-sides album...
And here's Ahavo Rabo Taco Salad
There are probably a couple others but I can't remember which ones right now.

I'd love to hear Breathe live. The clean intro is great and the whole song would just be a fun one to see live imo
