They’ve never released an “epic” as a first single - been a short 4-minute banger with a predictable structure more times than not. A proggy, epic track would be a great change of pace. And a very nice way to say “we’re taking a different approach to this record.”

I think Show Me a Leader was actually a step in the right direction. Not my favorite song, but having a lead single open with a 30-second guitar solo was refreshing.

Yes, but the radio edit that originally came out for that song didn't have the whole intro guitar solo lol. It was cut out.

Hopefully if an epic is released as the first single, they won't edit it like they did Show Me A Leader or God forbid, Cry Of Achilles.

Yes, I had the same thought with Cry of Achilles. For this reason I don't really like releasing longer songs as singles, unless they can somehow do so without cutting parts of the song.

Damn, It's been a sweet long while since I've posted here, but reading all these posts and seeing the teaser images really gets you hyped.

Anyone thinking they will drop a full on concept record? Just have a slight inkling after ADM from Tremonti. Would be amazing.

I would be happy with a concept record. But one thing Tim(?) mentioned was the record has very pointed, and angry, lyrics. I'm wondering if we're getting, not so much a lyrical concept record, but one that just feels more like an "experience" if that makes sense. A sonic journey, as it were.

That's how different opinions can be. I was very sad when I read that it's not the official album cover, would have been maybe me my favorite album cover art from AB.

Like I said, it's a crafty idea. I like the crown and the castle. The figures look way too vanilla. I would rather see figures resembling actual chess pieces. And nothing blends together. It appears like everything was photoshopped in. No made from scratch artwork. And what's up with the Death Star inside the crown?
