Yeah, it's awkward. They should have taken it straight to the point, nothing wrong with that.

What would this be sarcasm?
They usually do two European tours in the fall during an album cycle, so 2023 should not be any exception.

About the video: eh. I've seen that kind of video hundreds of times already.
They missed a good opportunity to make a different kind of video.
For instance, it would have been fun seeing Myles making a fool of himself on a beach during his Holiday.

With all the buzz on the Holiday video, I think this might have flown under the radar.

https://audioinkradio.com/2023/01/mark- ... dge-creed/

He says they've played five new songs on the tour so far and they're gonna add another three. First off, they only played four new songs, but I guess he might be counting Holiday since they did the video shoot for it. So, let the guessing begin. What three songs will they add to the setlist? Here's mine and the reasoning behind them.

- Fable Of The Silent Son: Mark said they are gonna play it live, for sure. It's a song that does require a lot of working out the details, which is why Fortress and This Side Of Fate took a long time to get their live debuts.

- Stay: Mark said that this is an easy one to play. It would be nice to shake up the Mark vocals spot a little instead of keeping the same Waters Rising/Burn It Down alternation.

- Dead Among The Living: For this one, I'm not sure. But the band said they wanted to write songs that are enjoyable to play live. Mark's comment to this was that he wrote the riff of this particular song in an effort to have a Come To Life-style song that would work well live.

That leaves Season Of Promise and Last Man Standing as songs that won't be played live, which I'm both not surprised and not disappointed about.

The fact that you specifically said August made it sound like you 'knew' something, but now I've seen your reply it's clearer that this is some form of positive speculation (ie if I say it it will happen). Let's hope you're right!

A little research has shown that only on the Fortress album (and obviously WTS cos of covid) did this not happen.

I'm betting Holiday will be one of the three new songs :shifty

I was implying that Holiday would be one of four new songs to be added and that Mark was simply forgetting that they hadn't actually played it live yet.

And the live debut of Stay! Yes!

Well, those would be the last 2 songs off the album that I'd want to hear, and there's no more Shed My Skin. :(

But then AB isn't running their setlists by me beforehand, so I guess I'll just enjoy whatever they offer on this tour.

They did play 8 of the 17 songs that are in my top 100. Since four of those 17 are not realistic to appear in a setlist anytime soon, and since two pairs would appear in the same spot in the setlist (Burn It Down/Stay and This Is War/Dead Among The Living), I'd say there is a chance they could play as many as 11 songs from those 17. They are Open Your Eyes, Burn It Down, Shed My Skin, Come To Life, Watch Over You, Isolation, Cry Of Achilles, Addicted To Pain, This Is War, Silver Tongue, and Pawns & Kings. If they play most of these (at least the guaranteed ones, Burn It Down, and Watch Over You), I'll be as happy as can be.

Stay sounds absolutely beautiful live. I don't care for Holiday, I understand why they play it though.

The comment he's showing at 0:43 couldn't be further from the truth, but fair enough.

Justin Hawkins is really successful on YT recently. Great to see that he gives AB some good publicity.

This guy is weird, he has changed the title of that video three times at least, at first it was something like "this is how you do it" then "this is what rock is all about" and now "why do people even like alter bridge?" wtf...

I think it's quite a common thing on YouTube nowadays. I've noticed it with some of Rick Beato's videos recently. I'm not a YouTuber myself, but I would guess it's just a way to tinker with the search algorithms to try and increase engagement. Whilst Hawkins speaks to the camera, I'm assuming he has someone who handles everything else and is probably clued in about these things.

Also, another view of Stay. Even though I like this tune, I'm not sure if it's interesting enough to stay in their set for the long term. Mark sounds great though.

I agree, Dan. With both Mark and Myles tied to their mics just strumming their guitars, it's not a very visually engaging song.
