I have never tried copywriting before. I have absolutely no experience in it!
I only mention this because, if you can write then you can do copywriting. I'm assuming an English Lit degree involved persuasive writing via essay.

So if a person and/or company has a need for some content (local business needs webpage copy, a product description is needed for amazon, a local event needs to make their event sound exciting) then you'd be surprised how just being able to write with decent grammar and coherency is a marketable skill.

EDIT: In fact, I have no qualifications in but I ended doing it for several companies just because I'm not a bad writer and have skills of persuasion.
Will you teach me your ways?

Anyone upgrade to Windows 11 yet? I've heard practically nothing about it and am wondering if it's worth upgrading to right now.

My computer doesn't support Windows 11.

If it was still supported I'd probably go back to XP.

All right. I've done it. I've booked my flight to San Francisco. Three nights at a three-star hotel and it looks like it's a good hotel. Just a 20 min. bus ride from Chase Center to the hotel and most importantly, three min. of that is on foot. Costed me $422.00. What kinds grinds me a bit is it costs more to fly on Alaska Airlines (which I prefer) than with United (which I ended up picking). Heck, I got to pay an extra $20.00 just to ensure that I have a carry-on bag option in the plane. All the other flights I've taken didn't have that additional fee for that option.

Don't think I can honestly get cheaper with the holidays coming.

I'm waiting until the official release at least. I depend heavily on my software to work properly for work and there are still too much reports of bugs for my liking.

The biggest change is the new look, which I don't really care about. That's going to be the biggest change for regular users though. There are some other features and optimisations that are nice, but I think they could've been added as features for 10, which I'd liked more.

Windows Terminal though 😎

I thought it was officially released October 5? My laptop is prompting me to upgrade, but I figured there were still some bugs like you mentioned that need to be worked out, so I'm not planning on upgrading soon.

Oh wow, didn't even know it was released. I thought it was still in a beta stage. Watched some video's about it like 2 months ago. Doesn't change much about my opinion though.

Well today I learned what a cooter is. I’ve been working 16 hour shifts lately and finally this weekend I have a few days off. I got an invitation to the Official Inverness, Florida Cooter Festival!

I can honestly say it is an awesome festival, the live music is great and the cooter races and other “Wildlife” make this festival one you should experience at least once!

I have laughed so much today my mouth hurts! I’m glad I went. Before going however my friend sent me this Daily Show podcast on Cooter Education. LOL

The One Armed Bandit

Post by MaraCarr »

I feel I should share this story with my AB fam because it is a good story to share. As you know, I am a travel nurse so I do a lot of things alone...well I always go alone, I usually end up in the midst of great company. I love Halloween, it is just a fun celebratory night IMO. I didn't want to stay in my work home alone so I decided to strike out and so I drove to the Hard Rock in Tampa. I started out in the L bar and ordered my first ever Blueberry Margarita. The L bar is super nice because of the comfortable seating and it is right in the middle of all the action in the bottom floor casino, you can see everything, it also offers great music and a few big screen televisions to keep you entertained. I took my time and sipped the drink and it was good.

After leaving there I decided to stroll down to the Hard Rock Cafe because it was Halloween and they had a live band playing. I ordered a draft beer and started listening to the band who was playing 80's cover songs and early 90's. It was great! I had some small talk with the bartenders and had just started on my 2nd draft beer when a nice gentleman sits down beside me and orders himself dinner and a beer. Somehow we began to talk, and we talked on til we found ourselves face to face in deep conversation. The small talk was some how magically skipped...we were talking bucket lists, cars, scars and childhood memories. The conversation was wonderful and the band kept playing, on and on and suddenly he asks me to dance, so I accept and we danced to a very fast song, no slow dancing here, the man was swinging me all over the place. It was so much fun, although I had no idea what was coming, I was just letting him lead, he knew how to move.

We were having such a good time talking and just being alive, until the bartender says last call, so I had 3 beers and my tab was $18.00, He said I got her tab. (Unexpected and so very nice.) So we decide that we are having such a good time that we will stop and have pics made to mark the evening and then proceed to go to the slots, (the one armed bandits) they are called that because they have the potential in more ways than one to rob you blind and they only have one arm.

This is when it gets good, We were having such a good time and he had the capital, he gave it to me in good faith and I made his capital grow, and grow and grow. The first one I hit was on a 2.00 bet. I turned it into $1000. hit 2x 2x 2x on a machine called "Easy Money"... His eyes lit up. I cashed out and gave him the 1000 ticket. He came back and threw 5 one hundred dollar bills at me and said, "do it again". we moved to the next machine and "I did it again" just as he asked... this time 3.00 bet and $500 prize. cashed out and gave him the ticket. He comes back and throws another 200 in my lap. All in all our winnings were well over $3000 in less than 3 hours, we laughed so much and just enjoyed every moment. We ended the night at 4am November 1st, he had to be at work at 6am. Thankfully I had the day off and went home and slept all day. I thought it was a dream so when I woke up...and looked in my bag, to my surprise it was full of 100 dollar bills because he split the winnings with me, how sweet is that? I certainly wasn't expecting him to do that, I was just having fun and was so thankful for his company!

Anyway, he said I am officially "the one armed bandit whisperer", and I said no not at all... I was just having fun, we were both in a good place in our minds and collectively we beat the machines. "Prosperity always follows Bliss". I don't know him, all I know is his name is Mack! We said good bye as we cashed out our last winning ticket. It was a memorable Halloween and an awesome way to start November since we did pull an allnighter, and as old as we both are that is phenomenal (LOL)! There are so many beautiful, kind and generous people in this world just waiting to share life. I've learned as a traveler there are way more good people than bad. ;)

Being in Florida, I was half expecting you to say you ran into an AB band member on your night out, but sounds like you starred in an indie movie instead! :lol Sounds like a great time!

Love you guys… so funny

Post by MaraCarr »

Well I’m done here on December 20th. I’m going to take two weeks off. Christmas and New Years… then starting 2022 in a new place. Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head South Carolina, Houston, Or San Diego I am debating. I’ve never visited any of these will just wait and see what unfolds! Excited and looking forward to a beautiful new year!

Any advice on which place to choose?

Myrtle Beach all the way! It was awesome when I was there even though we ended up in the middle of a hurricane.

It is so interesting that you say that because out of all the contracts presented to me, Myrtle Beach turned out to be the best. Looks like I am going to Myrtle Beach! I am Ready! :)

At Best Buy, Tesla with license plate that says “Me Elmo” pulls up next to me, big middle aged black guy gets out and I 100% regret not asking if he was really Kevin Clash.

It doesn't matter what the other choices are. The answer is NEVER Houston.
