Re: SMK&C 2015 Tour
Skipped them last time they came through Utah and I really regret it, so I'm definitely going in October! That was a nice surprise to see Salt Lake on the list! Now I just need a concert to go to in September to keep my concert a month since June streak going.
Re: SMK&C 2015 Tour
Glad for more people getting a chance to see them, I did have them close to me earlier this year. Not sure about the NJ festival vs. some others that weekend.

So if they play superbly live (which they do), is parking a hassle or something, or you don't want to spend the money, or are you just not a Slash fan?anguyen92 wrote:Well, three shows in SoCal I could possibly go to, but I'm going to pass on this one. I already saw them last year in the tour before the album was out, and whilst, the band played superb as they should, the overall experience was not really to my liking to come back again.

Re: SMK&C 2015 Tour
Parking was free since the show was at a casino. I just think the general crowd was not really to my liking. I still feel a little upset that a couple, that was wearing Slayer shirts, literally bumped into me during the show without apologizing. Also, I felt like I was probably the only guy in the audience that legitimately know who these guys were and not a guy that just wants to see Slash, former GNR guitarist legend, and hear the GNR hits and probably shrug off the rest of the stuff.
Another thing is that I found Myles there to be a bit restrained in certain parts. Sure, he did all the usual good stuff (hands in the air, sing it!, "That's Right", etc.), but it lacked a certain charm and personality from him, that I love, that only an AB show or the idea of an acoustic show can bring.
Overall, the band played great and all, but I do not know if I want to go through spending like $60 for the cheap seats again. I think, to me, seeing them live again (while knowing that they will deliver like they always do) would not be that different than seeing them the 1st time (which is the opposite of what I said in my review of the show where I said I would like to see them again, but I'll admit being hypocritical here).
I know, I know, I'm saying this as an Alter Bridge fan, a fan of a band that does not really mix up the setlist, but there's a certain charm in an AB show, that I cannot put my finger on, that makes me want to see them again, even if they played the same songs that they played at the Wiltern show.

Re: SMK&C 2015 Tour
Not gonna make a new thread, but Myles did another Kings Of Chaos show last night. Here's a video of him doing Fire Woman with Billy Duffy (and Matt Sorum) from The Cult.

Thought Myles sounded really good. He did the song justice. Also cool to see him up there without Slash.
Rock 'n Roll with the entire group:

Myles bromancing with Glenn Hughes and Sammy Hagar loved their interaction. Cool to have Doug Aldrich up there as well.
You Could be Mine with the instrumental part of Illusions era GNR:

Cool. Well that thread is still basically hibernating right now and he has an F#5 in that song already from before so I guess that's not useful Thanks for the fast pitch thoughTimotheus wrote:F5SHEAKENBAKEN wrote:What note does he hit at 3:18 in Rock And Roll?

Thought it was still cool to see him on that song, even though he didn't sing the entire thing. It's always been one of my favorite Zeppelin songs because I've played it countless times with my old band and I loved AB's version of it.

Re: SMK&C 2015 Tour
Seeing these guys for the second time next month. I'm so pumped. Snagged 2nd row between Myles and Slash, pretty much perfect. When I saw them last year, I was 3rd row in front of Todd and barely saw Slash since he hardly came over to that side, and being short doesn't help.
SO excited to see Myles again!

Anyone seeing them at the Food Truck and Rock Carnival tonight? I decided not to go but am curious how the event was in case they do it again next year.

ME!!! It was a great event and SMK&C were awesome! Brownstone was back in. They threw in a little bit of Feels Like Making love and Gilby came out for Paradise City.agny wrote:Anyone seeing them at the Food Truck and Rock Carnival tonight? Re: SMK&C 2015 Tour
Slash, Myles, and Co. killed it again. So good. Ended up 2nd row center which was amazing. I actually got to see Slash this time, unlike last year when I was 3rd row on the left.
Now, Myles was not at the peak of his powers. He avoided most of the high notes throughout the night which I really didn't mind; there's still a month of shows left for them until a short break. He was still energetic and looked like he was having a blast up there.
Myles looked at me quite a few times; he also gave me a thumbs-up and pointed to me at the end of "Slither" which I got on video.
The people next to me were taking selfies "with the band" throughout the night and Myles photobombed them during "30 Years to Life," which was funny. Got that on video.
Frank tossed me the setlist from the stage at the end. A perfect ending. I wish I could have stuck around to get it signed.
Amazing, amazing band. I will spend thousands of dollars to see them one million times. I wish I could go to another show.

According to your videos Myles doesn't sound that nasally anymore. That's very good.
