I like their new song, it's a good mix of the traditional Gojira sound with the new melodic approach they seem to be taking. The guitar parts are really good. It's probably one of the most dynamic song they've done.

I still love Stranded as well, based on the two songs we've heard so far I think we're in for a really good new album.

Damn, that chorus is so good. Awesome song!

I love the way the solo went into the last chorus. So powerful.

It's great! It feels really short though.

Good album, but I think it might take me another listen to appreciate it fully. Feels quite short, yeah.

I had the same thing indeed, kinda short. It has a very moody feel, which is good... Some of the rhythm work is insane as usual haha! Though sometimes I miss the more heavy feel in the production. L'enfant Sauvage had a very tight production and this album does feel very different, but the production does fit the songs.

This record is kinda boring, but they have some cool rhythmical ideas. Not my cup of tea to be honest.

It's not up their with their first four, but I like it better than L'enfant Suavage.

I guess I'll be going to Germany for the Alter Bridge + Gojira tour! Interesting combination to say the least haha, I know the AB guys are huge fans...

So I keep hearing about this band... and I just listened to 5 of their popular songs on youtube. I am not feeling it at all. I want to like them, but it's not happening.

I was the same. Heard of this band many years ago, gave a couple of songs a try and didn't feel it at all.

But years after that, I decided to go deeper than the popular recommendations, and that's when I fell in love. I think the album From Mars to Sirius is a fan favorite, but personally, I don't feel it at all apart from a couple of great tracks. Maybe you guys feel the same?

Check these tracks out, if you haven't already, and see what you think (these songs made me a fan):

The vocals still kill it for me. "Hey guise, me iz such a hard dude, look how sick i'm barfing into this mic."
That's really sad, because many of the instrumentals are sick.

I'm always a bit sceptical of screaming/growling vocals so in someways I understand where you're coming from, but I also disagree. Gojira's music is largely about the deterioration of the environment, I think Joe's vocal styles demonstrates passion for the issues he's singing about and massively contributes to the overall power of Gojira's sound. Given that you've acknowledged that the instrumentals are good, I imagine if you keep on listening you'll grow to like (or not mind) the vocals.

Agreed. I used to hate screaming vocals, but it's something you get used to. I prefer them now in most extreme forms of metal.

Totally on Timo's page regarding grunts/screams/growls... I 'get' it now, and Gojira has a kind of unique style vocally I think. There is a kind of emotional desperation in his voice I find fitting with the themes and music.

But I totally get it that people don't like it. It usually takes one or two screaming bands you like musically before you get over them and (god forbit) learn to appreciate them.

Wow, ridiculous how tight they are.. Vocally also very impressive. So jealous they weren't with AB in Brussels..

L'Enfant Sauvage and Silvera behind eachother... fuuuck.

Yeah, glad I went to Köln instead of Amsterdam (not only because the becoming father thingy) for Gojira. Plan on seeing them on their headlining club tour as well.
